La Aurora Barrel Aged by Karl Malone is a collaboration between the house and the NBA Hall of Famer, blended with Master Blender Manuel Inoa. At Habanora this collection holds it in four sizes.

The signature is in the ageing: the Ecuadorian binder and the Peruvian, Dominican and Nicaraguan filler rest in rum barrels before rolling, under an oily Ecuadorian wrapper aged around six years. Expect caramelised walnut, vanilla, wood and spice. Choose the size by the time you have. The Robusto, 5 x 50, is the compact choice. The Sumo Toro, 5 3/4 x 54, is wider, which keeps the draw relaxed. The Belicoso, 6 1/4 x 52, tapers to a point that concentrates the opening. The Churchill, 7 x 47, is the long format for an evening. The barrel ageing gives this blend a character apart from the rest of the house, so it pairs well with a strong coffee.
